Apple Watch-34R-ModularClock-3rdParty-PRINTAccording to the rumors, the Apple Watch 2 is said to most likely be launching by the middle of the year. Given that Apple released the device in April 2015, it means that it is almost a year old, indicating that we should be able to look forward to its refresh. This is why we can’t say we’re surprised to learn that production of the device could be kicking off soon.

In fact according to Chinese website Commercial Times (via 9to5Mac), they have suggested that Quanta is expected to kick off the trial production of the Apple Watch 2 this month. While we can’t say with certainty when the wearable will be launched, a trial production this month does seem to indicate that a launch by June would certainly be possible.

Apple is expected to hold an event in the earlier part of the year which is usually reserved for their Mac computers, so perhaps we could learn more about the device then. No word on what we can expect from the Apple Watch 2, but some wishlists have indicated that better battery life would be nice.

We have also heard the reports that Apple has been ramping up hires in the health sector that could be going towards adding more health features to the Apple Watch, so perhaps new fitness or health-related sensors could be a nice touch as well. In any case until we hear from Apple officially, take it with a grain of salt for now.
