uber-entertainUber achieved history over the holiday season by dropping off its one billionth passenger, and this can only mean one thing (other than the company being hugely successful with an overarchingly simple idea) – that folks are spending plenty of time in their cars. Hence, why not take advantage of the situation and ensure that your passengers will be able to enjoy themselves more while being on their way to their destination, or to be more productive on the road? A new feature known as Trip Experiences is being introduced to do so.

Trip experiences will enable third-party developers to send customized notifications as well as content to passengers during their trip, and this will not be intrusive as it happens only when the passengers have given their permission prior. Uber claims that Trip Experiences happens to be one major update to their application program interface ever since the Ride Request service rolled out before.

What are some of the items that Trip Experiences offer? How about a music playlist that has been curated so that it will be timed according to the length of your ride, while throwing in a five-minute news update, or perhaps sneak in reviews of a restaurant that you are about to tickle your palate with?
