uncharted 4

The title of Naughty Dog’s upcoming game does hint that there’s going to be some sort of conclusion to the entire saga, it’s called Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End after all, but now the folks at Naughty Dog have started dropping hints as well that the upcoming title might be it for protagonist Nathan Drake. That doesn’t necessarily mean Drake will be killed off but opens up the possibility that he may not return in another Uncharted title if one was to be released in the future.

Speaking to The Sun creative director Neil Druckmann talked about the difficulty of creating more adventures for Nathan Drake following the events of Uncharted 4. “I feel like the best way to honour him is to go out on top, to finish his story,” he said.

Druckmann also dropped a pretty major hint that we may not see Nathan Drake in another Uncharted title. The creative director wasn’t mincing words when he said that “t will be really hard to do a sequel with Nathan Drake.”

Even though Naughty Dog has said that it’s done with the Uncharted series after the upcoming title is released there’s always the possibility that another studio might decide to create a new game in collaboration with Sony. Only time will tell if circumstances will allow for Nathan Drake to be featured in a future title.

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End will be released for PlayStation 4 on April 26th, 2016.
