xiaomi-mi-5Looks like the cat is out of the bag at long last, where Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi is preparing themselves for a second launch of the year – and this would be none other than the Xiaomi Mi 5 smartphone, where the launch will happen this coming February 24. So far, this bit of news has been confirmed by Xiaomi’s India Head Manu Kumar Jain on his Twitter account.

It does look as though the Xiaomi Mi 5 is set to thrill those who are on the lookout for a new device, perhaps your current smartphone is on its last legs and is about to give up the ghost soon. Still, the upcoming device has been touted to be “everything you imagined, and more,” and we will just have to wait until February 24 when the relevant nitty gritty are revealed.

Having said that, there has been leaks before, and so far some of the whispers that we have heard on the grapevine point to the Xiaomi Mi 5 running on the Snapdragon 820 chipset, carry a Qualcomm fingerprint sensor, and will boast of NFC support for seamless data transfer. All that is required from the rest of us now would be patience – after all, it is just less than one month away.
