Today it gets yet another feature one that many users will be very happy to get. Amazon Echo can now stream music from Spotify, one of the most widely used music streaming services on the planet.

Spotify Premium subscribers can now listen to their music using Amazon Echo, all they need to do is ask Alexa to play it for them, Alexia is the personal digital assistant that lives inside Echo.

All users need to do is ask Alexa to play an artist, genre, playlist and more from Spotify’s catalog and it will do that. It’s also compatible with Spotify Connect allowing users to effortlessly control and transfer their listening experience from the Spotify app to the Echo, they just need to select Echo from the list of available devices being shown in the app.

The only caveat here is that this feature is only available to Spotify Premium members so if you’re not paying for a monthly subscription you can’t use Amazon Echo to stream music. Echo already has supported for similar services that include Amazon Music, Prime Music, Pandora, iHeartRadio and TuneIn. Spotify will certainly prove to be a very valuable addition to this list.
