iphone-5s-review-001

It has been rumored for weeks now that Apple is going to hold an event in March to unveil new products and earlier today it was rumored that the event has been scheduled for March 15th. Apple itself is yet to confirm anything so there’s that bit to keep in mind. The company is expected to unveil its new 4 inch iPhone 5se at the event but Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster predicts that it won’t be shown off at the March event.

In a note to investors, Munster writes that it wouldn’t make sense for Apple to launch two iPhones at separate times in the year because this will detract from other product releases. It’s too soon for iPhone 7 right now and one can’t expect that to arrive before the fall as per the usual timeframe.

Munster isn’t saying that Apple won’t conduct an event next month, but he says that the focus will be on the second generation Apple Watch that will only be a minor refresh with new components and band options. He also predicts that the iPad Air 3 will be launched at this event.

Munster’s predictions contradict much of what’s been floating around for a couple of weeks now, that the iPhone 5se will be the star of the March event, and that the Apple Watch only gets new band options and nothing else next month. The only assumption he reiterates is that the iPad Air 3 is coming next month.
