asus zenfone selfieIf you own an ASUS handset and you’re wondering when your device will be getting an update to Android 6.0 Marshmallow, the bad news is that we don’t have any specific dates to look forward to. However the good news is that we do have a rough timeline that customers can expect their handsets to be updated.

According to a post on the ASUS forums, the company has revealed a list of handsets that will be updated to Android 6.0 Marshmallow in Q2 2016. Like we said, there is no specific date but we guess Q2 2016 will have to do for now, meaning that it should be rolling in the next 3 months or so.

The list of phones that are eligible for the update includes the ASUS PadFone S, the ZenFone 2, the ZenFone 2 Deluxe, the ZenFone 2 Deluxe Special Edition, the ZenFone 2 Laser, the ZenFone Selfie, the ZenFone Max, and the ZenFone Zoom. ASUS also makes note of some of the changes to the apps on the phone after the update.

“Google Messenger, Calendar, and Gmail apps will automatically be included with the Android M update. These apps will replace three ZenUI apps—ASUS Messenger, ASUS Mail and ASUS Calendar—as the default apps in the Android M version of ZenUI if you restore to factory settings after the update.” In any case we’ll be keeping our eyes peeled, so ASUS owners of the devices listed above should check back with us in the coming months for the details of its release.
