dr-dreThere have been talks about Apple getting into the video streaming game, and we can only imagine that the success of companies like Netflix and Hulu might have been a source of inspiration. In fact there have even been rumors that Apple could be planning their own original content, similar to what HBO, Netflix, and Amazon are doing.

Now according to a report from The Hollywood Reporter, we might have an idea of what to expect. According to their report, they have learnt that Apple exec and rap legend Dr. Dre will be filming and starring in a 6-episode scripted television series that was created specifically for Apple.

The series is called Vital Signs and it will run for 30 minutes. It is not a comedy series and according to sources, they have told The Hollywood Reporter that the show can only be described as “a dark drama with no shortage of violence and sex. In fact, an episode filming Monday and Tuesday this week featured an extended orgy scene.”

It is a rather risque choice for Apple, but not surprising given their surprising acquisition of Beats, which some feel might be Apple’s way of trying to appeal to the younger crowd. As far as availability is concerned, it is unclear as to when the show will go aired, or how it will be distributed. It has been suggested that Apple Music is a potential platform, but we wouldn’t be surprised if it were to end up on Apple TV or the iTunes Store. Take it with a grain of salt for now, but hopefully we’ll learn more soon.
