facebook logoIt looks like Facebook intends to roll out something that is dreaded by many users – advertisements, in its Messenger app, and this particular move is set to happen some time in the first half of 2016. In other words, your days of ad-free Facebook Messenger are numbered, so you might want to take advantage of the soon-to-be “good old days” as much as possible.

This bit of information hais from TechCrunch who mentioned a document that was developed by Facebook for advertisers. TechCrunch claimed that this document was given by a “verified” (and of course, unnamed) source, enabling businesses to send ads in the form of messages to those who have initiated a chat conversation with their company. It does seem to sound as though it is rather intrusive in nature, but I guess as long as it does not spill over to conversations with friends, it should still be somewhat bearable.

Facebook is also touted to create a URL short link in order to let users kick off a chat with a business almost immediately. When approached on the matter concerned, a Facebook spokesperson shared, “We don’t comment on rumor or speculation.” Well, this is certainly another development by the social media company that includes opening live video streaming to all as well as instant articles.
