adblock-fast

Samsung recently updated its internet browser with an API that enables ad blocking plugins to tap into it and block ads and tracking for users when they’re browsing the internet using Samsung Internet. Merely a couple of days after Adblock Fast, Samsung’s launch partner for this initiative, gained tens of thousands of downloads Google removed it from the Play Store. Today it has restored Adblock Fast to the Play Store.

This has been confirmed via through a blog post by the developer of Adblock Fast. Google removed the app from the Play Store last Tuesday citing that it violated a section of the developer agreement that all developers are required to follow if they want to hawk their creations on the Play Store.

Adblock Fast wasn’t the only app that could tap into Samsung Internet’s adblocking API, there were other similar apps, however they remained to be available through the Play Store. It looks like the developers of this app have tweaked something that has brought it in line with the developer agreement, which is why Google has allowed it back on the Play Store once again.

It’s now available for download for everybody who has a Samsung device running Android 6.0 Marshmallow as well as Samsung Internet version 4.0. Adblock Fast is available as a free download from the Play Store.
