lamborghini-centenario

The 100th anniversary of Ferruccio Lamborghini is coming up soon. If that name sounds familiar that’s because he’s the founder of Lamborghini, the company that makes cars worthy of a bedroom poster, so naturally it’s going to honor the 100th anniversary of its founding father. What would be a more fitting way to honor his memory than to create a limited edition car that’s a 770-horsepower beast? It’s called the Lamborghini Centenario.

The Centenario is right up there with the other limited edition cars that Lambo has produced, like the Sesto Elemento and the Veneno, cars that are so outrageous that you need to be a proper racing driver to actually extract the most out of them.

Lamborghini is going to formally unveil its new hypercar at the Geneva Motor Show. Rumors suggest that the Centenario is going to cost around $2.5 million and will be limited to 20 roadsters and an equal number of coupes. Only 40 of these will ever be made so you can imagine how quickly the price will shoot up once all 40 have been delivered to initial buyers.

The Centenario is powered by a naturally aspirated 770 horsepower V-12 engine that takes the car from 0-62 mph in a mind-boggling 2.8 seconds. That’s all we know about Lamborghini’s new limited edition hypercar, for now, expect to hear more about this when Lambo unveils it at the Geneva Motor Show later this week.
