xbox-one-party-february-update

This month’s system update brings a number of new features to the Xbox app for Windows 10 today and to the Xbox One console tomorrow. There are several new social features that allow players to stay connected to the Xbox Live community across console and PC. Highlights include being able to see who’s in a Party on Xbox One before joining.

The community has been asking for the ability to see who’s in a Party before joining and Microsoft is finally coming out with this feature. The Gamerscore Leaderboard will now be displayed under My Achievements. The leaderboard allows players to see where they stand relative to their friends by comparing the total score.

The update makes it possible to re-arrange Pins on Home and access them offline. Activity Feed on Xbox One will inform users when there are new items in the feed. It’s also possible to hide games from the ready-to-install list, another feature that fans wanted Microsoft to add.

Improvements have been made to Suggested Friends and now Game Hubs, as well as the game tile, will allow users to launch Twitch.tv broadcasts if their friends are broadcasting. The latest release also includes an interface which allows users to set the X1 and X2 functions on the Chatpad keypad. Plug the Chatpad into the controller and then select the desired functions via Settings. Current hotkey defaults are “take screenshot” for X1 and “record that” for X2.

Upcoming features and improvements have been detailed on Major Nelson’s blog, check them out to get an idea of what’s in store for you next.
