Microsoft-Band-2Fitness bands are great if you’re trying to get in shape or better understand your body. They can track your calories, steps, distance, some even track your heart rate, sleep cycles and more. Now if you’re the proud owner of the Microsoft Band 2, you will be interested to learn that Microsoft has recently issued an update for the device with new features.

In the latest update that Microsoft has rolled out to the device, one of the new features brings about the ability for users to track their weight. According to the description, “Track your weight – to help you maintain your current weight, or help you reach your weight goals.” Of course we should point out that there are other apps that offer similar weight-tracking functionality, but if you prefer using the Band 2’s software then this will be a welcome addition.

The update will also bring about activity reminders, like when you have been sitting for too long. It will also allow users to share their workouts with their friends, a new GPS power saver mode that extends the device’s battery life, web tile gallery that will show sports scores and news headlines, and of course the usual host of bug fixes.

So if you haven’t updated the app yet, you can go ahead and pop on over to the Google Play Store to get your hands on the latest version of the Microsoft Health companion app.
