Want to listen to Spotify on the go? You can download the music streaming platform’s app on your smartphone or tablet. However the downside is that you will need an internet connection, or subscribe to Spotify Premium where you will then be able to save songs offline. However if you’d rather not go through the hassle, a media player by the name of Mighty Audio might have the answer you’re seeking.

As you can tell from the look of the device, it seems that the creators of Mighty Audio have drawn some inspiration from Apple’s iPod Shuffle. It is small and pocketable, making it ideal for workouts. It can store music in itself meaning that you won’t need to bring your smartphone with you while you’re out, and just like all media players, it will play songs without the need for an internet connection.

According to its creators, “Today, every option to stream music while exercising requires a bulky, fragile smartphone. And phones are only getting larger, more fragile, more expensive, and more battery hungry. This motivated us to create a simple product that provides users with a comfortable and seamless music+fitness experience, all without a phone.”

Syncing your songs with Mighty Audio is pretty straightforward to and you won’t need to plug it to your computer. Just pair it with your phone and you can sync your Spotify playlists with the player, although since this is saving music for offline, you will need a Spotify Premium account. It’s an interesting device in a world where our smartphones double as our media players, but if you think that having a separate device is a good idea, hit up its Kickstarter page for the details.
