Samsung launched its mobile payments service last year and it’s already available in the United States and South Korea. Later this year the company is going to gradually expand it to more markets, it has already confirmed that the service will be going live in China in the near future. It’s now making sure that Samsung Pay is ready for Marshmallow and has released a new update for the app to ensure that users don’t face any issues with the service when they move up to the new firmware.
The latest update for the Samsung Pay app bumps it up to build v1.6.61. The changelog is a small one, noting that this update enhances the user interface and performance while making the app “M OS compatible,” which basically means that the app is now compatible with Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
Samsung hasn’t really provided a release timeframe for Marshmallow and even though it has started the roll out process in South Korea, it hasn’t revealed as yet when the much awaited Marshmallow update for its 2015 flagships will be released in countries across Europe and North America. Users can only keep their fingers crossed for now.
Given that it has sent out an update for Samsung Pay that readies the app for the upcoming firmware perhaps this is an indication that Samsung will soon roll out Marshmallow in more countries across the globe. That’s really what millions of its users want so the roll out might not be that far off now. As previously said, fingers crossed!
