Amazon is expanding its Dash Replenishment service by linking up with Samsung and enabling some of its printers to automatically order toner when levels are low. Consumers and small businesses can now sign up to take advantage of this service and automatically receive toner refills from Amazon when existing supplies are low. This eliminates the need for users to keep an eye on toner levels and to physically go out and get the replacement or manually order it when they find out that they’re out of toner.

Amazon flipped the switch on this service last month as Dash Replenishment went live on supported connected devices from the likes of GE and Brothers. Select Brothers printers are also able to automatically order toner from Amazon.

Users can select which toner is automatically ordered when a replacement is needed using the Samsung Mobile Print app. The printer will then monitor toner levels over time and will order a replacement before running out.

Amazon Dash Replenishment is only going to be supported by select Samsung printers initially. Printers currently supported include the Samsung SL-C430W, SL-C480FW, SL-M2835DW, and SL-M2885FW.

In the future the Dash Replenishment service is going to cover more products. Companies that have signed up to support this service in their future products include Whirpool, Purell and Brita. Amazon will also provide an API that will enable developers to integrate Dash into their products easily.
