serato_pyroFor those who are into DJ-ing or music production, chances are you have heard of the company Serato. For those who aren’t familiar, Serato is a company that specializes in software designed specifically for DJs. Now if you’re not a DJ, fret not because the company has released a new mobile app called Pyro that will turn you into a DJ at a touch of a button.

Basically what the app does is that it allow users to put together playlists of their own choosing, and at a touch of a button, the playlists will play and songs will move from one to the other seamlessly, thanks to the app’s ability to fade tracks from one song to the other, despite how different they might sound from each other.

According to AJ Bertenshaw, Serato’s CEO, “It’s definitely dance music, hip hop, top 40s, and that kinda music that really this app is designed for and does an amazing job of. That’s the kind of music you’d expect to hear mixed by a DJ.” The app will also connect to Spotify, so if you are a Premium subscriber, you will be able to pull songs from the platform as well.

However there is more to being a DJ than just fading songs in and out, so obviously this app isn’t designed to replace a DJ, but if you’re having a house party and you want music to play seamlessly without any awkward pauses or silences in between tracks, then this app could be worth checking out. It is a free download so head on over to the iTunes App Store for the download.
