tinder bernie sandersTinder, for those unfamiliar, is an app used for dating. People view each other’s profiles and swipe left or right to indicate their interest, and only when two people have expressed interest in each other that they are allowed to chat with one another. However in the past we have seen some creative uses for Tinder for non-romantic purposes.

According to a report from Tech Insider, it seems that one woman by the name of Robyn Gedrich has also found a creative use for Tinder, and that is to campaign for Bernie Sanders. We should note that Gedrich is not part of Sanders’ campaign staff, she’s just a huge fan and believer of him and his policies.

Basically what she does is she swipes right (to indicate interest) on every profile, and whenever they are matched, she’ll send a quick message that reads, “Do you feel the bern? Please text WORK to 82623 for me. Thanks!” So far she’s gotten a variety of responses, with some ranging from who announce their support for Trump, to some engaging in debates and discussions about Sanders’ campaign, to some who are very nonchalant about the whole thing.

However despite her good intentions, Tinder wasn’t too pleased to be used as a political soapbox and has since banned her account. Gedrich claims that if she were to get her account back, she’ll continue pushing for Sanders.
