If you’ve ever seen a watch get put together by a craftsman, you know how much effort and time is put into it. Given that the components are so small, it does require a lot of attention to detail, not to mention a great deal of patience, which is probably why many Swiss watches tend to be priced so high, in addition to the use of luxurious materials.

That being said, Kyoto-based Takii Seeds has recently published a fun little video for a watch called the Bento Watch. This is more of a publicity stunt if anything, but we have to admit that it is pretty cute and fun to watch. Basically it shows how people are so busy these days that they have to eat on the go, but what if you could keep a lunchbox inside your watch?

The video shows how the watch is being made, followed by a clip of a surgeon who uses his surgical skills to cut up vegetables and ingredients into tiny, tiny pieces. This is then followed by a chef who then attempts to fry up and cook the ingredients in tiny frying pans, and last but not least, all of it is put together by a diorama hobbyist.

The end result is a watch with a bento box inside it, decorated and plated with the attention to detail you might expect from the Japanese. If you have a couple of minutes to spare, we promise you won’t regret checking it out!
