chick-fil-a-ice-creamIt has become an increasingly common sight to walk into a restaurant or cafe and see entire families hunched over their phones or tablets. Heck, even babies are placed in front of a tablet these days just to get them to eat or be entertained, so in reality this is a pretty common occurrence, although we have to admit it isn’t particularly social.

Now there have been various games and incentives in the past to try and get people to put their phones down and socialize, and recently Chick-fil-A has decided that they want to get in on the action. The company has recently launched a new promo in which if families can dine at their establishment without checking their phones, they will be eligible to get a small ice cream cone each.

As you can see in the image posted on their Facebook page, it will require families to place their phones inside the cell phone coop. Like we said, this isn’t the first time we have heard of such incentives. For example there are “games” invented where everyone has to place their phones face down and stacked on top of each other.

The first person who reaches for their phone before the end of the night will have to pay for everyone’s drinks/meals, or some kind of variation. It’s ironic that as social networking seem to be growing on computers, it seems to be shrinking in real-life. Maybe this could be a good idea the next time you and your family members dine out, even if it isn’t at Chick-fil-A.
