send-phone-notifications-cortana

Cortana, Microsoft’s personal digital assistant, has only been around for a couple of years now and throughout this time the company has added some very useful features to it. The digital assistant is already capable of providing you with cross-device notifications but it appears that in an update that might come out soon, it’s going to get much better at that.

On Windows 10 PC, Cortana can currently notify you if you miss a call on your Windows-powered smartphone. Those alerts can also be viewed under “Missed call notifications” in Cortana settings.

It looks like Microsoft is going to improve this functionality and rename it to “Send phone notifications.” As the image suggests, users will be able to decide if they want to receive notifications about the battery running low on their handset, or when they miss a phone, text or app notification.

This will be a welcome addition for people who use Windows-powered smartphones as well as Windows 10 on their PC. I’m guessing that while many do use both, it’s much easier to find people who use Windows 10 on PC but use a smartphone that’s on a completely different platform. Nevertheless, this will be good for Windows users.

No word as yet from Microsoft on when this improved functionality is going to arrive.
