cortana_answer_new-1024x575Cortana used to be a feature found only on Windows Phone handsets, but eventually it made its way onto Windows 10, which meant that its announcement for the Xbox One did not really come as a surprise. Unfortunately last we checked, Microsoft stated that they only planned on releasing Cortana for the Xbox One in 2016.

Now we are sure that some of you guys might be curious about the status of the feature. Turns out you don’t have to worry because according to Microsoft’s Mike Ybarra, he recently posted an update on Twitter in which he reassured gamers that development of Cortana for the Xbox One is going well.

This was in response to a user asking about the status of the feature, to which Ybarra responded by saying, “Saw a demo from the team today, coming along great.” Unfortunately apart from updating gamers about the status, he did not provide any additional information about the release of Cortana on the Xbox One.

However it has been suggested that maybe Microsoft might want to save that announcement for their Build conference which will be held in two weeks, so maybe we will learn more then. In the meantime as we had previously heard, a Kinect will be required to use the feature, so if you don’t have one already, maybe you might want to consider investing in it.
