samsung gear s2Last year there was a rumor that Samsung could be making their Gear S2 smartwatch compatible with iOS devices. This was later confirmed to be true during CES 2016 earlier this year in which the company’s VP confirmed that iPhone support was coming to the Gear S2 later this year, although no specific dates were given.

The good news is that we might not have to wait much long. According to an alleged chat that took place with a Samsung rep, it seems that the rep confirmed that iOS support will be arriving for the Gear S2 by the end of March. Assuming this is true, this means that we should be able to expect it in the next week or two.

Support is expected to come via an update that will make it compatible with iOS devices, and at the same time it is also when Samsung will release the Gear Manager app for iOS that will allow users to sync up its smartwatch with the iPhone. That being said, customer reps do get it wrong from time to time, not to mention plans can change.

However we are hoping that it is true, especially since the announcement was made several months ago, but either way we’ll be keeping our eyes peeled, so check back with us soon for the details, if there are any to be had.
