Actor and comedian Kevin Hart is teaming up with Lionsgate to launch an online video streaming service called Laugh Out Loud which is going to provide comedy content exclusively. This partnership between Lionsgate and Hart’s company Hartbeat Digital is going to put a variety of content from the man himself on Laugh Out Loud. There will even be an original series for the service in which Hart will be playing an undercover driver for ride-hailing service Lyft. His live tours and theatrical performances won’t be available through the service, though.

“I understand the direction in which the television business is headed, and I see this big new space toward which audiences are starting to gravitate. I believe that launching this venture together now puts us ahead of the pack,” Hart said in a statement.

Laugh Out Loud is also going to feature new talent and even those who have acquired social media stardom. One of those stars is Logan Paul who has become quite popular due to his rather funny six-second videos on Vine. He will star in an original series for this new service.

Laugh Out Loud has a mountain to climb as it goes against streaming behemoths like Netflix, Amazon Video, Hulu, HBO Now and others. It’s not even the first streaming service of its kind, NBC has already launched a comedy-only service called SeeSo which contains its massive library of comedy shows and does feature original series as well.
