lg_iftttFor those who are unfamiliar with the IFTTT app, basically this is an app that helps automate your phone and tabet. For example you could set it so that when you snap a photo on your phone, it will automatically get sent to cloud storage services like Dropbox. Or you could set it so that every morning when the alarm rings, you will get the weather report too.

That being said if you’re looking for more automation, you will be pleased to learn that LG has launched their own IFTTT channel. This channel has been designed for the company’s home appliances like dryers and washers where if you own certain smart/connected LG home products, you will be able to download these recipes for them.

For example on IFTTT’s website, it shows how your LG dryer could send you a Twitter DM to let you know when it is done. You could also automatically log your dryer usage history in a Google spreadsheet, in case you’re trying to keep track of your energy use. Your phone could also be set to play music when the dryer is done, and etc.

Basically these are all pretty handy recipes but like we said, you will probably need an LG home appliance in order to take advantage of them, but if you do the go ahead and check it out for yourself. In the meantime you can check out the IFTTT app by heading on over to the iTunes App Store or Google Play.
