Say the power is cut, you can always opt to use your phone’s flashlight, use a portable lamp, or worse comes to worst, light a match to help find your way in the dark. However matches do burn out pretty quick and we’re sure the last thing people want to do is burn their fingers, right? If you’re hoping to avoid such nasty situations, then the MBI Matchlight might be of interest to you.

If you were to watch the video above, basically the Matchlight is a matchbook that comes with several disposable flashlights in them. They are small like the size of matches, and each comes with an LED tip whose tint will be available in multiple colors. So the question is, why would anyone need these tiny lights when your phone will do?

If your phone is low on battery, running the flashlight could present a problem. The upside to the Matchlight is that it is small enough to fit into your pocket. It also sports a magnetic base, so you can stick it on metal surfaces. It is also waterproof and fully submersible, so using it outdoors should not be a problem.

Each Matchlight has a battery life of 8 hours and with a total of 8 sticks, you should be able to illuminate your surroundings easily. As it stands, Matchlight is currently an Indiegogo project which has since exceeded its funding goals. If you’d like to get in on the action, there is still time so head on over for the details.
