miitomoLast we heard, Nintendo’s Miitomo app was pegged for a March release, but the question is when exactly in March? The good news is that if you have been looking forward to seeing what Nintendo could have up their sleeves, you might be pleased to learn that the game has an official release date set for the 17th of March.

Note that this launch date came courtesy of Nintendo of Japan’s Twitter account. This means that for all we know, the 17th March release could only be for Japan, so for now we suggest that you not get your hopes up just yet until we get more updates, but either way we do know that the game will be released in March, so if not the 17th then we guess in the next one or two weeks then.

Gamers who are interested can sign up for the game in which they will receive several perks if they sign up now. Just in case you’re unfamiliar with Miitomo, the game is more of a social game like Second Life rather than an RPG, action, or racing game that we have come to expect from Nintendo’s titles.

The game will be free of charge but the company has since confirmed that the game will have microtransactions. Granted Miitomo isn’t exactly the game many gamers had in mind, but for all we know it could turn out to be a success.
