moto e android 60It looks like the hardware specifications for not one, but two, upcoming Motorola smartphones have been leaked, having been spotted over at the GFXBench benchmark site. They do seem to be Motorola devices, as opposed to Lenovo branded smartphones, as derived from their respective model numbers of XT1700 and XT1706, which happen to be the traditional model number naming convention from Motorola.

First of all, the XT1700 will come with a 5” display alongside a resolution count of 720 x 1280 pixels, accompanied by a MediaTek MT6735P SoC that has a quad-core 1GHz CPU and the Mali-T720 GPU. Other specifications include 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal memory, an 8MP shooter at the back, a front-facing 5MP camera, and Android 6.0 Marshmallow running right out of the box. As for the XT1706, it too, will sport similar hardware specifications.

Could both of these be the third-generation Motorola Moto E? After all, they do seem to carry the necessary to be the successor to the second-generation Moto E as seen in the image above. The specifications spotted are certainly an improvement over its alleged predecessor, which came with a 4.5” display at 540 x 960 qHD resolution, a Snapdragon 410 CPU, 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory, accompanied by a 3MP selfie camera and a 5MP camera located at the back.
