hawkeyeWhile actor Jeremy Renner has been in a ton of other movies, chances are you associate his name with Hawkeye, the character from Marvel’s the Avengers movies. Sure, he probably doesn’t get a lot of screentime compared to the big hitters like Iron Man or Captain America, but that doesn’t make him any less of an interesting character.

Now the question is, is Hawkeye interesting enough for Netflix to want to turn him into a TV series? The good news is that if that does happen, Renner has stated that he will be open to the idea. This was revealed during an appearance he made at the first annual Silicon Valley Comic Con in San Francisco that was held over the weekend.

According to Renner, “I’d definitely be open to it because I really started to enjoy exploring the character more as of recently. So, yeah, the Netflix model I think is a really fantastic way to … that’s where all the character drama kind of goes now. It’s either you’re doing a superhero movie or you kind of go to a Netflix sort of model, HBO, or … that’s where all the big television is, right? So, I’m always open to something like that. I don’t get to say yes or no to those things.”

However note that Renner is simply open to the idea and that there is nothing in discussion at the moment, or even a hint of something in the works, so you should probably not get your hopes up just yet. That being said, Netflix has had pretty good success with Marvel characters in the recent years. Daredevil’s second season is currently streaming and has been met with favorable reviews, along with Jessica Jones.

Up next is Luke Cage and possibly Iron Fist in 2017, so obviously Netflix has the experience in handling Marvel characters, but the question is, is Hawkeye compelling enough to warrant his own series or Netflix Originals movie? What do you guys think?
