ps4-xbox-one-pre-order

About a week ago Microsoft announced that it will allow players on Xbox Live to play online against users on different platforms like PC and PlayStation provided that developers and platform owners like Sony supported the cross-network play feature. It announced that Rocket League would be the first game to take advantage of this new feature, enabling players on Xbox One and PC to play online against each other. Many are more interested in Xbox One/PS4 cross-play and Rocket League developer says it has got that figured out.

Rocket League developer Psyonix Studios says it has figured out the technology required to make this happen. Psyonix vice president Jeremy Dunham has said in an interview that all that’s remaining now is the politics of such an arrangement.

“The only thing we have to do now is sort of find out where we stand politically with everyone, and then it’s full steam ahead to finish the solution that we’ve already started,” he said, adding that “technologically everything works, we’ve got it figured out,.”

Even though Microsoft has effectively extended an invitation to other platform owners to open up and connect with Xbox Live there hasn’t been much commitment yet. Sony only had a noncommittal response to the invitation but, at least, it showed the willingness to engage in a debate about allowing Xbox One and PlayStation owners to play online against each other.
