sony playstation vr

Sony’s PlayStation VR headset can now be pre-ordered. The virtual reality headset costs $399 but Sony said that it would only be taking pre-orders for the PlayStation VR bundle that costs $499 and features the headset, Move controllers and PlayStation Camera. Some customers were understandably not happy with this and they’ll be glad to know that Sony is going to take pre-orders for the PSVR headset only.

There’s a reason why some customers might be upset that previously they could only pre-order the bundle. The PlayStation VR is most certainly new but the Move controllers and PS Camera are not. The controllers have been around since the PS3 and the camera was released with the PlayStation 4 in 2013.

It’s highly likely that a lot of customers already own either one or both of those peripherals and they really don’t need to purchase them again with the bundle. Sony has thankfully seen that this wasn’t the way to go and made amends. It’s going to accept pre-orders for just the headset only which is priced at $399.

So pre-order options for customers now include the $499 PlayStation VR launch bundle  which is available for pre-order today and the PlayStation VR core which is priced at $399 and will be available for pre-order on March 29th at 7:00 am PT.
