Spotify wants to make it very easy for its users to discover music. It recently launched Discover Weekly, a personalized playlist that provides users with two hours of custom-made music recommendations every week. Today it has introduced another way to discover new music, particularly from unknown artists, through what it calls “Fresh Finds.”

Fresh Finds is available to users starting today and it will be updated every Wednesday. It will surface the latest songs from undiscovered artists that appear to be stars of the future. So not only will it enable users to discover new music but also help rising stars achieve more popularity.

The playlists in Fresh Finds will be curated by man and machine and will offer songs across five diverse genres that include electronic, vocal pop, experimental and hip-hop music.

Spotify decides which tracks to feature in these playlists by going through early online buzz across music news websites and blogs as well as listening hours on Spotify to determine anonymous listening patterns to predict which music a lot of other people will soon be listening to.

The Fresh Finds feature can be accessed through Browse, it’s available to all users, and not just those who pay extra for Spotify Premium. The playlists will be refreshed with new music every Wednesday.
