If you’re a Star Wars fan then there’s no question about the fact that you’ve already gone to the movies to see this new addition to the franchise, perhaps even multiple times, nobody is going to judge you for that because they’ve probably done that themselves. Now, though, it’s time to worry about the home release of this epic movie, and Disney today confirmed Star Wars: The Force Awakens digital release date.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens is going to be available for digital download and also through the Disney Movies Anywhere streaming service starting April 1st.

The following week, on April 5th to be precise, Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be released on Blu-ray and DVD. That’s where most fans will go as they’ll find the most additional content in those formats.

Additional content will include deleted scenes, interviews, making-of clips and much more. There are going to be exclusive versions of Target, Best Buy and Walmart. Each version will have special packaging and extras so fans will really need to decide which package gives them the most bang for their buck. If they’re feeling really crazy, they can buy them all.

Disney has also confirmed that the Blu-ray release of this movie is also going to come with a digital copy. It hasn’t confirmed yet if the movie will be available for rent through digital platforms. Later this year, Star Wars: The Force Awakens is also going to get a 3D Blu-ray release.
