The LG G5 is all being prepared for a rollout in the very near future, and you can be sure that this smartphone that boasts of modular accessories is sure to have heads turn when it arrives. However, are there variant of the flagship based on the geographical markets of the handset? Perhaps so, as China will be picking up what is known as the LG H848, or better called the LG G5 Lite. Now that is certainly an unofficial moniker, since the handset is referred to simply as the LG G5, although with far less impressive specifications than what we know of.
The main difference? The processor has taken a hit in terms of processing power, as there is no more Snapdragon 820 chipset from Qualcomm. Rather, that has been replaced by an upper mid-range Snapdragon 652 chipset, which will feature a quartet of Cortex-A72 and an equal number of A53 cores, albeit with an Adreno 510 graphical unit that will power the 5.3″ QHD display.
There will be just 3GB of RAM as opposed to the 4GB of RAM on the LG G5. Latin America has picked up the S652 model as a cheaper alternative, and perhaps this is the same logic that drives the China model. One will still be able to enjoy a dual 16MP shooter at the back, 32GB of internal memory and Android 6.0 Marshmallow in tow.
