twitch_subscriptionsIf you love tuning into Twitch streams, you’ll realize that there are some broadcasters who actually do this for a living. Now if you’d like to be able to support them in a monetary way, Twitch has offered users the ability to subscribe to their favorite broadcasters and pay a few bucks a month which goes towards helping them maintain their channel.

However the subscription option was only available via the web interface, but the good news is that Twitch has since updated their Android app with mobile subscription support. This means that just like the web version, users can now subscribe to their favorite broadcasters within the app itself, saving you a trip to the computer, especially if you’re the type that watches Twitch from their mobile devices often.

According to Twitch, “It works just like subscribing via the website, and follows the same Xsolla payment flow. There are no additional fees or steps either! Users will be able to announce their resubs just like they would on web, and take advantage of all the subscriber perks in the channel (sub only chat, emotes, etc.) Additionally, Android users will be able to manage their subscriptions by tapping the “Subscriptions” menu option.”

As for iOS users, don’t worry as this feature has not been ruled out yet. According to Twitch, it sounds like they want to see how this pans out for Android first before rolling it out to iOS devices. “We wanted to focus on making sure that this version was the best it possibly could be. We hope that the information gathered from this release will help us make our app even better in the future.”
