julia child twitchTwitch is a platform many of us probably associate with video game streaming. However in recent times we’ve seen the platform experiment with different types of content, like with music, and also when they did a marathon livestream of Bob Ross’ art TV series, and now it appears that they are trying their hand at something else – food.

The company has announced on their blog that they will begin livestreaming all 201 episodes of Julia Child’s The French Chef, a TV series that was originally aired on PBS. For those unfamiliar, Julia Child was a chef and author who helped introduced French cooking techniques to Americans, and who also portrayed by Meryl Streep in the 2009 movie Julie & Julia.

According to Twitch, “By inviting viewers into her home and addressing them with a friendly and forgiving attitude, she inspired generations of cooks to take risks in the kitchen. Just like Twitch Favorite, Bob Ross, Julia Child wasn’t afraid of ‘happy little accidents’, famously telling her fans, ‘the only real stumbling block is fear of failure. In cooking you’ve got to have a what-the-hell attitude.’”

The stream has already begun so viewers who are interested can just point their browsers to Twitch’s Food channel and start streaming right away. In addition to the livestream, Twitch will also be introducing three new global emotes.
