iphone_se_touch_idThere is a new report that hails from app marketing firm Sensor Tower, where they cited that the average iPhone owner over in the US would fork out approximately $35 each year when it comes to apps and in-app purchases. Do you happen to fall into that category, or are you at the other end of it, shocked to hear that folks could spend so little?

Should this particular report from Sensor Tower be believed, then it would also mean that most of the purchases made from the Apple App Store by US iPhone owners would concern games – with an estimated 70% plus of the total revenue being attributed to the gaming section. That would mean, relatively speaking, that it would be close to $25 out of the $35 spent each year for the average user.

Music remains in second place at $3.40, while another $1.80 would be spent on social networking apps, and another $1 would end up in the entertainment category. As for the ‘lifestyle’ apps, it would be 40 cents, and another 18 different categories would benefit from the remaining $6.80 of spending. Do you think that these figures actually tally up to be a rather accurate reflection of your spending on the iOS ecosystem for the iPhone, or are you far off from the norm?
