LG-Watch-Urbane-2-edition-04

Earlier this week AT&T once again started taking pre-orders for the LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition LTE smartwatch and today Verizon is doing the same. Interested customers can pre-order LG’s LTE smartwatch from Big Red today. The country’s largest mobile carrier has also started taking pre-orders for the company’s latest flagship smartphone, the LG G5. The new flagship is likely going to be released on April 1st, at least, LG has confirmed that much.

LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition LTE happens to be the first Android Wear-powered smartwatch with cellular connectivity, it’s also the first smartwatch available in the country that has support for LTE. The Samsung Gear S2 does have a cellular model but it only has support for 3G.

Verizon is selling the LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition LTE for $499 or $449 with a two year contract. On the contrary, AT&T is asking $359 for the very same device off contract, but it merits mentioning here that while Verizon charges $5 per month for service on the smartwatch AT&T charges $10 per month.

Verizon is providing an incentive to customers to pick up the smartwatch. It’s going to knock $100 off the price if the smartwatch purchase is paired with the purchase of the LG V10 or the LG G5. The G5 will be available for pre-order on Big Red from March 24th to March 31st. It’s giving a charging cradle, a 360 degree camera and a free extra battery as pre-order incentives.
