cnn-android-vrCNN has just made an announcement that they have introduced an update for their CNN App for Android smartphones, and in this particular update, it will come with the ability to playback 360 video from within the app itself. In other words, it will not need to have to make use of another device, or even another application, now how about that?

For the very first time ever, users will be able to check out 360-degree, virtual reality videos in the core CNN Android app, which would showcase the commitment to virtual reality across the entire range of CNN Digital platforms. A user is able to check out the experience on Android devices as they enjoy the the latest production from the CNNVR team.

Not only that, there will also be Chromecast support thrown into the mix with the latest CNN Android app, where you can now cast your favorite video clips to your 1st or 2nd generation Chromecast device. However, live TV and full Android TV support are not available as at press time, but Google claims that it is “coming soon”. That is a rather relative figure of speech, so hopefully it will happen sooner rather than later. Anyone given it a go so far, and how did you find it?
