If you’re a fan of endless runner titles, you might be familiar with Crossy Road. The 8-bit looking game has won over many gamers with its simple gameplay, not to mention the cute graphics. So much so that they even worked together with Disney to create a Disney-themed Crossy Road that lets you play as popular Disney characters.

That being said, it seems that in a recent update, the developers behind the game have brought about a much awaited feature: multiplayer. Now instead of just showing your friends your high scores, you guys will be able to compete on the spot itself over local WiFi to see who can get the furthest without drowning or run over by a car.

It looks like this version will be particularly intense because if you’ve ever played the game before, you know that taking too long will result in an eagle swooping in and flying you off, so with the added challenge of having friends to compete with, it does look like a ton of fun. Not to mention it looks like gamers will be able to block each other to prevent them from crossing.

Unfortunately since this feature is developed in part by Yodo1 Games, who also published the Android version of the game, it will only be available on Android for now. This isn’t a permanent exclusive as the iOS version is expected to make its way to the iTunes App Store come May. However if you do own the Apple TV the multiplayer update is already available for you guys. In the meantime Android users can get their hands on the latest update in the Google Play store.
