T-Mobile claims that it’s the first mobile carrier in the United States and quite possibly in the world to offer a next-generation voice technology called Enhanced Voice Services or EVS, it has a patent-pending for the deployment. EVS is said to improve voice call reliability particularly in areas where signals are weak, this means that rarely dropped calls on LTE will happen even less frequently.

T-Mobile says that Enhanced Voice Services provides even higher-fidelity calls than HD Voice, it does this with a broader audio frequency range that allows for richer and more realistic-sounding voice audio.

EVS is said to deliver all of these benefits regardless of whether the user is on Wi-Fi or T-Mobile’s LTE network. According to T-Mobile, its patent-pending deployment of EVS enables it users with compatible handsets to enjoy all of the benefits of this next-generation voice technology even if the person on the other end of the line doesn’t have an EVS-capable device.

Supported devices that are currently being sold by T-Mobile include the Galaxy S7, the Galaxy S7 edge, and the LG G5. T-Mobile is looking forward to making EVS available on seven smartphones available to its customers by the end of this year.

Magenta reiterates its resolve to improve the customer experience by pushing the LTE network “as far as it can go.”
