htc10_renders_10HTC is proud of the camera on the upcoming HTC 10. We’re not sure what the company has done to make them so proud of it, and given that HTC has boasted about their camera prowess in the past only to have it met with lukewarm reception, we have to say that we are a tad skeptical, but hey, maybe they have learnt from previous mistakes.

Now thanks to a series of tweets which have since been deleted, it has been suggested that the upcoming HTC 10 will have a camera feature that we’re sure no other OEM has included in the past, and that is a front-facing selfie cam that comes with optical image stabilization (OIS). Such technology tends to be reserved for the primary camera, but having it in the front camera will no doubt be a marketing advantage for the company.

Now shaky images from front-facing cameras have never really been that much of an image, but it could prove to be useful for those who love to vlog with their phones and walk around and with OIS, it will help produce some steady footage. Selfie cameras these days seem to be extremely popular, and companies like Casio have been trying to cash in on the trend.

In any case the HTC 10 will be officially unveiled on the 12th of April, so do check back with us then for the official details. Until then, do take it with a grain of salt for now.
