Huawei is a smartphone brand that many have come to associate with budget handsets, although in recent times the company has been trying to move away from that image to be that of a more premium brand like Apple and Samsung. In fact the company’s upcoming smartphone, the Huawei P9, is expected to pack some pretty impressive hardware specs.
However if you were impressed with the Huawei P9, it seems that is not all the company has up their sleeves. According to a report from The Wall Street Journal, it seems that Huawei will be launching a flagship smartphone for the US market later this year. This is according to Richard Yu, Huawei’s consumer electronics chief who claimed that there will be another device launched sometime later in 2016.
Unfortunately as it stands it is unclear as to what kind of specs the flagship they have planned for the US will be packing under its hood so we guess we’ll just have to wait and see. In the meantime the Huawei P9 will be officially unveiled on the 6th of April, with one of the features being a camera that was developed in a partnership with camera-maker Leica, so check back with us tomorrow for all the official details.
