macbookIt has been rumored that Apple could be working on new MacBooks that they could unveil at WWDC 2016. With the event confirmed to take place in the coming months, we suppose won’t have to wait too long to see if the rumors are true, plus the fact that there were no MacBook-related announcements during Apple’s March event certainly seems to suggest that new models are imminent.

In fact if you were looking for more proof that new models are on their way, it has been noted that several retailers have started to offer up discounts on existing MacBook models. For example both Best Buy and B&H Photo are offering $150 discounts on the 11-inch and 13-inch MacBook Air models.

While seeing products discounted isn’t new, usually it can be a sign that retailers are trying to clear out existing inventory to make way for the newer models when they arrive. However at the moment it only seems that these two retailers are offering discounts, so maybe it could be an isolated incident.

However as noted by 9to5Mac, in addition to offering discounts, Best Buy has also run out of stock for the 12-inch Retina MacBook and has listed the product as “no longer available”, which can be taken to mean that new models are on their way. In any case WWDC 2016 will be held in the middle of June so if new MacBooks are on your radar, check back with us then for more information.
