ff xvAs with most games these days, publishers usually release a collector’s edition aimed at fans of the game and well, video game collectors. These editions usually come with extra content like an art book, soundtrack, maybe some collectibles like a figurine or a keychain, and so on. They are also usually priced pretty high.

Square Enix gave Final Fantasy XV the same treatment when they put the Ultimate Collector’s Edition up for pre-order, and unsurprisingly many gamers were quick to place their orders. In fact gamers were so quick that it sold out pretty quickly much to the dismay of gamers who weren’t able to place their own orders.

The good news is that more units could be produced in the future. According to a recent tweet by the game’s director Hajime Tabata, he apologized for how quickly it sold out and also stated that more units could be produced in the future. “We are terribly sorry about that. At the moment, we’re continuing with internal coordination to see if we can somehow increase its production. We will make an announcement as soon as there’s any progress!”

Note that this is by no means a guarantee that more units will be produced, but rather that Square Enix will be looking into it, so until then keep your fingers crossed!
