Depending on our mood, there are times when a slow ballad would make more sense in the moment compared to a heart pounding EDM track. It’s like how we have playlists for relaxing, and playlists for the gym. However what if you hated the idea of having to constantly switch back and forth? Wouldn’t it be better if our phones were more intuitive?

That’s pretty much what Jonathan “j.viewz” Dagan had thought of when he released his interactive music video for his song “Almost Forgot”. The music video instead of being released on YouTube, has been released in the form of an app. The app takes your phone’s camera to scan for your heartbeat and will switch the tempo of the song to suit your mood.

So for example if you’re at the gym running on the treadmill, the song’s tempo will speed up, but once your heart rate slows, so will its tempo. Unfortunately the app is only available for iOS but Android users can get in on the fun as they can experience the same thing by launching the Almost Forgot website

There have been similar efforts launched in the past, like Spotify Run in which users can set a tempo and Spotify will attempt to find songs to match it. In any case if you’re interested in checking the app out, hit up the iTunes App Store for the free download.
