One of the features of Windows 10 is Continuum. For those unfamiliar, basically Continuum will turn your Windows 10 Mobile device into a computer of sorts when plugged into a monitor, thus allowing you to switch between a mobile interface and a desktop interface when the occasion calls for it.

Now if the idea of doing that appeals to you, you might be interested in an Indiegogo project for a device called the NexDock. The NexDock is essentially a laptop shell that allows users to plug a variety of devices to it, and in turn gives it more desktop-like qualities. The NexDock is a shell that sports a 14-inch display, a keyboard, trackpad, and a built-in 10,000mAh battery.

There are speakers and a variety of ports, but essentially it is just a shell with your device being the main thing that powers it. According to its creators, the NexDock will play nicely with a bunch of devices like Windows 10 Mobile handsets, some Windows-based tablets, the Raspberry Pi 3, the Kangaroo PC, and other PC stick computers.

This essentially means that for $150 (your smartphone/PC stick not included), you could essentially have a laptop on the cheap. The NexDock project has managed to exceed its original funding goal but if you’d like to get in on it all the same, then head on over to its Indiegogo page for the details.
