tiny tower 5 yearsThere are many sim-like games out there, and one of those games that has proven itself to be rather popular over the years (and spawned multiple variants) is none other than Nimblebit’s Tiny Tower. In fact it seems that it has been about five years since the game has been launched, and to celebrate that five years, the developers have announced that they are working on a 5th anniversary update.

According to the announcement in the TouchArcade forums, the developers wrote, “Some of you might remember way back over 4 years ago when our game Tiny Tower blew up on mobile and even won iPhone Game of the Year from Apple in 2011. Well it is coming up on 5 years since it was released and to celebrate we’ve been working on a giant overhaul of the game, adding a ton of new content and porting it to a new engine to allow it be cross platform and look and run better on modern devices.”

Now the good news is that they will be adding a ton of new features to the game, such as new roofs, new floors, new lobbies, new elevators, new missions, new costumes, and more. Users will also be able to rename their bitizens and even trade bitizens with their friends, which might be useful for those who have certain costumes that they have yet to collect.

The developers have currently opened up the beta to the update and those who are interested in taking part in it can signup here. This is for the iOS version but as the developers have stated, an Android beta will be coming soon.
