nintendo charactersNintendo’s first-party titles have generally done well for themselves. Heck, even a new title like Miitomo which had many skeptics at the start managed to rack up 1.4 million downloads within its first week, going to show that there is still a lot of love for Nintendo-made titles. Perhaps the company knows this and that’s what they’re trying to do for the upcoming Nintendo NX console.

According to a report from Nintendo blogger Emily Rogers, it seems that she has been tipped by her sources that for the upcoming NX, Nintendo won’t be repeating the mistakes that they made with the Wii U, and that they are aiming to create as many first-party titles as possible in time for the console’s launch.

While Nintendo has released several first-party titles for the Wii U, the space in between its releases has been a bit too big for many gamers’ liking. For example despite having been said to be in the works for a while, the Wii U version of The Legend of Zelda has yet to materialize and from what we heard, it is expected to make its way onto the NX as well.

Rogers claims that Nintendo has adopted a new strategy to try and make this work, and from what we hear previously, that strategy could involve porting Wii U games over which would no doubt be less work than building a similar title up from scratch.
