star wars originalThe Star Wars hype is still going on, thanks largely to last year’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens which actually went on to do pretty well unlike the last time new Star Wars movies were introduced. In fact for the next few years, we should expect more Star Wars movies and if you’re new to the series, here’s your chance to catch the original trilogy in the cinemas.

According to a report from Entertainment Weekly, Alamo Drafthouse will be screening the original trilogy in their cinemas this coming August. Granted the movies have been available for many years now on a variety of formats, but if you prefer experiencing the movies in a cinema setting, you will now be able to do so.

Alamo Drafthouse’s VP of Special Events, Henri Mazza had this to say about the company’s plans: “It’s always been a dream to show the original Star Wars trilogy again – somehow, someway. Seeing the original trilogy on the big screen for the first time is a real life-altering event and just a supreme amount of fun. When the films became available to book for screenings like these, we jumped at the chance to do something big.”

Note that the screenings will be limited in the sense that it will only be available throughout the month of August, and that it will go from location to location, so if you have missed out on one city/state, you can always try your luck elsewhere. The full listing of dates and locations of the roadshow can be found below (courtesy of Entertainment Weekly).
